Teacher bio
Some of you may already know me, but for those of you who haven't, I will let you know a little about myself.
I was born and raised in Alberta and grew up on a farm. I was lucky to have almost every animal imaginable growing up and I consider myself a farm girl. I moved to Saskatoon for University 11 years ago and have been here ever since. My plan is to find a nice acreage to move to when it makes sense to do that. In the meantime, I live in Saskatoon.
I am the oldest of 3 girls. My one sister lives in Calgary. The other recently moved to Ontario to be close to her boyfriend. My parents are in a bit of a transition at the moment. They are currently building their retirement home. They sold the acreage in Olds in May 2015 to move back to Wakaw, Sk to be closer to both of their families (they were highschool sweethearts) Their place is right on Wakaw Lake and I really enjoy having them closer. Family is hugely important in my world and I spend lots of time with them.
In April 2016 I completed my Masters of Education program in curriculum studies at the U of S. Shortly after that I applied to the administration pool in our division in hopes of getting a Vice Principal position. While I was successful in my interview, there wasn't an opening for me for the 2016/17 school year. I am hopeful that something will open up for next year, so there is a chance this might be my last year at Venture Heights as a grade 3 teacher.
Aside from those things, I love spending time working on my yard. I have done extensive landscaping on it and it seems to be one of those never ending projects. I definitely have a passion for nature and being outside. This summer I am hoping to take advantage of all the rocks at my parents place and do their landscaping for them. I also love anything art related, as I'm sure you will discover soon.
I encourage all of you to pop in whenever you can. I believe parents are an important piece of the classroom puzzle and I want you to feel comfortable approaching me with a question or concern.
